| Home > News > 24 Jan 2007 Digital Currency Allows Online Casino Gaming to Continue24 Jan 2007 With the passing of the UIGEA, or Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act in the US last October, the online casino industry has experienced a great blow to its stance as a viable market. However, even with the new anti-gambling law regarding online casino gaming taking effect, the online casinos are still experiencing a strong presence within this industry, along with loyalty and perseverance regarding their player bases.
For US online casino players, it is does not make sense to them that the US Congress did not follow in the footsteps of the British and tax the proceeds and revenues created by the online gambling industry. Many other European countries that are legalizing online casino gaming also do not understand the US’ take and stand on gambling over the Internet. With so much money being generated by this growing market and industry, one would think that the US would try and use it as another source for pumping money into the country. However, its belief that gambling corrupts and destroys people, families and homes is what is ruling its current decision to ban online gambling.
Digital currency is still allowing for online casino gaming to take place, and among countries around the globe that have legalized online casino gaming and are making efforts to regulate it so that it will be safe and secure for their citizens to play at online casinos without being violated, this is a great aspect of the online casino industry. Perhaps one day the US will join the rest of the world in legalizing online casino gaming, and the US players will finally be able to gamble at their favorite online casinos legally.
